me! trying so hard to draw my face, i came up with this. i dunno how far off i am; i was literally staring at my face using the tinted window across my desk trying to distinguish my features. it is the first time that i really studied how i look like on a microscopic level (sorta). i’m so used to looking on the overall look.  i was asking people around how my eyes look, how tanned am i, the shape of my face, etc. yes, that is how my hair looks like now except that the part is on the other side. and my ears are not that big! i think i have a semblance with the manga, don’t you agree?

last weekend amidst the torrential rain/storm, i sat in front of my laptop and decided to to a late spring cleaning of my own. i forced myself to go over 5,000+ of mp3s, sort them, put album cover, create playlist and burn my other cds to mp3. it’s a tiring process, specially the opms that i just can’t do a right click » download album cover on using itunes. i need to do a manual search on google images for most of the album covers, specially the indie and world genre. my guess is that itunes only have an image database of popular music.

i have almost have all genre of music excluding 1, the heavy metal. i have classical, indie, pop, r&b, world, grunge, jazz, pop, acid, and other kinds of music but i can’t really stand heavy metal music. the closest i have is the soundtrack of queen of the damned. i can’t stand shouting and squealing guitars mimicking the violin’s range.

i realized i’ve amassed so much house/trance/techno/chillout music through the years, like 35 cds worth. mostly dj tiesto, hed kandi and paul van dyk. i don’t listen to them that much except for the chillout and lounge when i want to just hang out in my room and lay flat on my bed. the oldest artist i have in my  songbook is ella fitzgerald and judy garland. i love the old sound, the jazz throwback, soulful voices. though i appreciate contemporary jazz of harry connick jr., julia fordham and diana krall but nothing beats the oldies, the brat pack era. but what i am most proud of is my collection of broadway and musical soundtracks, specially rodger and hammerstein’s south pacific and  a chorus line, original cast of course!

it took me the whole 2 days to somewhat get my itunes and ipod organized. i’m having difficulty with the genre and duplicate songs; soundtracks and compilations are hell and creates duplicates of songs. hopefully next generation of itunes will allow users to assign a song to multiple albums.

after 2 grueling weeks, i finally finished the write-up for cmmi in my office. i was asked to write about cmmi because we are undergoing a re-certification and is scrutinizing and revamping almost all of our processes. lots of people (engineers, who else) are at arms with the change and would be changes. i think they have been too familiar with not having a process. it’s my familiarity with the standards and lucid disgust of ineffective and inefficient process that made them think i’m the best person to do it.

playing with mr. beanyanyhoo, i am proud to say that i haven’t gotten out of my apartment last weekend except the time i have to buy dinner. yes, i didn’t go out and wasn’t tempted to do so. i was with rocky all day, playing with him,  reading my current book to him and researching for his new vet. he has grown so much becoming more nimble and confident. he almost chewed my vintage gucci boston bag but settled with my beany collection. i have to dog proof my house which i will do next week.rocky and mr. beany sleeping praying that my stuff will last that long before rocky run amuck and start rummaging every nook and cranny of my apartment. am still trying to find out dog friendly restaurants and coffee shops so i can bring him with me when meeting friends and reading my books. i do miss having late lunch with friends and catching up with our week.

i’m styling 6 male models for this reality tv show. we’re looking for the image model of a known brand. can’t divulge much detail yet since it’s not airing and we’re in pre-production yet. we’ve finished the auditions and narrowed the models to the final 6. initial episode is now in the editing room and should be shown anytime soon; i’m now back on the drawing board for the finale styling. it’s difficult to style outside your style zone. i’m so used to style fierce, coutured, highly editorial look that i find it difficult doing commercial. then again the money is in the commercial world.
