life ain’t bad
Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you’re chewing on life’s gristle
Don’t grumble, give a whistle
And this’ll help things turn out for the best…
And…always look on the bright side of life…
Always look on the light side of life…
If life seems jolly rotten
There’s something you’ve forgotten
And that’s to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you’re feeling in the dumps
Don’t be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle - that’s the thing.
And…always look on the bright side of life…
Always look on the light side of life…
For life is quite absurd
And death’s the final word
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin
Enjoy it - it’s your last chance anyhow.
So always look on the bright side of death
Just before you draw your terminal breath
Life’s a piece of shit
When you look at it
Life’s a laugh and death’s a joke, it’s true.
You’ll see it’s all a show
Keep ‘em laughing as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.
And always look on the bright side of life…
Always look on the right side of life…
(Come on guys, cheer up!)
Always look on the bright side of life…
Always look on the bright side of life…
(Worse things happen at sea, you know.)
Always look on the bright side of life…
(I mean - what have you got to lose?)
(You know, you come from nothing - you’re going back to nothing.
What have you lost? Nothing!)
Always look on the right side of life…

I’m kinda pretty
And pretty damn smart.
I like romantic things
Like music and art.
And as you know
I have a gigantic heart
So why don’t I have
A boyfriend?
Fuck!
It sucks to be me!It sucks to be me.
It sucks to be Brian…
And Kate…
To not have a job!
To not have a date!
digital sound
last weekend amidst the torrential rain/storm, i sat in front of my laptop and decided to to a late spring cleaning of my own. i forced myself to go over 5,000+ of mp3s, sort them, put album cover, create playlist and burn my other cds to mp3. it’s a tiring process, specially the opms that i just can’t do a right click » download album cover on using itunes. i need to do a manual search on google images for most of the album covers, specially the indie and world genre. my guess is that itunes only have an image database of popular music.
i have almost have all genre of music excluding 1, the heavy metal. i have classical, indie, pop, r&b, world, grunge, jazz, pop, acid, and other kinds of music but i can’t really stand heavy metal music. the closest i have is the soundtrack of queen of the damned. i can’t stand shouting and squealing guitars mimicking the violin’s range.
i realized i’ve amassed so much house/trance/techno/chillout music through the years, like 35 cds worth. mostly dj tiesto, hed kandi and paul van dyk. i don’t listen to them that much except for the chillout and lounge when i want to just hang out in my room and lay flat on my bed. the oldest artist i have in my songbook is ella fitzgerald and judy garland. i love the old sound, the jazz throwback, soulful voices. though i appreciate contemporary jazz of harry connick jr., julia fordham and diana krall but nothing beats the oldies, the brat pack era. but what i am most proud of is my collection of broadway and musical soundtracks, specially rodger and hammerstein’s south pacific and a chorus line, original cast of course!
it took me the whole 2 days to somewhat get my itunes and ipod organized. i’m having difficulty with the genre and duplicate songs; soundtracks and compilations are hell and creates duplicates of songs. hopefully next generation of itunes will allow users to assign a song to multiple albums.

A Chorus Line : Hello Twelve, Hello Thirteen, Hello Love

never gonna give you up
i have a renewed love with lisa stansfield. i grew up listening to her during my high school and early college days before the sudden shift in music trend to grunge. i like the tone in her voice and her brand of music; reminds me of a warm, lazy sunday morning, with of steaming hot coffee and croissant with cream cheese. i like music that i can sing with, breezy and cool and totally takes me to another place. i would classify her music as the type i would play on a long drive or by the beach with a good book.
i first got hooked with her after listening to the affection album, all around the world. i don’t know why but until now i love this song. the beat is just perfect and easy on the ears, it doesn’t lull me to sleep but doesn’t make me jump around and start shaking my ass. the lyrics is just as inspiring as she sings it with a hint of jazz. but my favorite of all her album that i have (i have her first 4) is the lisa stansfield. her music has matured and she just glow. my favorite cuts in this album are never, never gonna give you up and real thing. may sound cheesy but i like how the songs talk about love and and not letting it go. though most of her sound is about love, but these 2 combined with infectious melody and good lyrics stood out.
i miss the old times when they release 4-8 singles per album as oppose to today’s 3 singles per album.
